Looking for any information on Alexander CAMPBELL, possibly born 9 Feb 1823 Kildalton, Islay, Argyl, Scotland of parents Robert CAMPBELL and Ann GILCHRIST. He left Islay abandoning his wife of a few months, Mary JOHNSTON (who was pregnant) and went to Australia. According to family lore he died there before 1913. He may have married again, not mentioning his already married state. This may be him immigrating: Alexander Campbell, age 35 (therefore born about 1822), arrived Australia (Victoria?), July 1857 on ship Kitty Simpson, Port F, Fiche 052, page 001.
