    1. [Australia-New-Zealand] Looking for James McGUIRE descendants
    2. Hey gang, I'm looking for details on, and descendants of, a James McGUIRE, son of John & Catherine McGUIRE. John & Catherine McGUIRE arrived, along with James's half-sister Mary Jane, in Melbourne on 9 Mar 1857 on the Admiral Boxer. James appears to have been born in Australia after their arrival. They arrived as Assisted Immigrants. Research thus far has determined the following: - John was born in County Clare, Ireland in 1827, and died in 1901 in Hawthorn West, Melbourne,Victoria; - James may actually be John, as the only birth record I can find for a McGUIRE child with parents John & Catherine is one in 1864 for a John McGUIRE; - Catherine's maiden name may be SANDS, the maiden name listed in the above birth entry. A death for a Catherine McGuire (nee SANDS) in 1907 gives the correct birth year of 1833. My connection to James is that his half-sister Mary Jane McGUIRE is my g-g-grandmother. Regards Kevin Ettery

    1. [Australia-New-Zealand] John Melville GRANT
    2. Greetings Gang, I'm looking for some details on the above gentleman, John Melville GRANT. I believe the gent I am after is the same gent who died 24 August 2012 in Otago, New Zealand. Does anyone on this list have him in their family tree? His Sydney Morning Herald death notice said "Formerly of Mosman, latterly of Kurow, North Otago, New Zealand", and that had wife Alison (actually Alison Lindsay GRANT). I am wondering if, perhaps, the Otago death notice has any more details on his family. I am particularly interested whether there were any children of his first marriage, which was to Margaret Ettery (my grandfather's cousin) in Sydney in 1962 (Ref # 24555/1962). Regards Kevin Ettery PS From what I've dug up so far, it appears he may have lived on Grants Road, Oamaru, New Zealand

    3. Hi, I have a marriage that would have been about 1980. Graeme Arthur Henry Diprose and his wife was Debra Jeanette ? Is there anyway I can find out her surname. He was born at Te Puke, so I would think he was married somewhere near there as that was where all the family seemed to live. Thanks Margaret Boots.
