    3. Hi List, Is anyone able to tell me the correct procedure for requesting searches at Booroondara and Cheltenham cemeteries? Do I write and send money or can I just telephone them and make my request? I have checked the microfiche of headstones for both these cemeteries and haven't found my rellies, but am still hopeful that they are buried at either of these cemeteries. Thanks, Vicki

    3. Dear Vicki I can help with Booroondara. I wrote to them and received a map of the cemetery pinpointing the grave in which I was interested together with a handwritten transcription of the headstone. They were very prompt, too. Their address is: Boroondara Cemetery High Street KEW VIC 3101 Kind regards Robyn ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vicki Strickland" <vickist@tpg.com.au> To: <AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 29, 2003 2:50 PM Subject: [[AUS-CEM]] Booroondara & Cheltenham cemeteries > Hi List, > > Is anyone able to tell me the correct procedure for requesting searches at Booroondara and Cheltenham cemeteries? Which cemetery at Cheltenham were you interested in - the Old or the New?? Details of burials at either can be obtained by phoning the latter (now known as Cheltenham Memorial Park) on 9583-5814. The fiched indexes covered registers for both cemeteries and was issued in 1990, although the index of headstones at the Old Cemetery was released a couple of years ago. That for the New Cemetery will be made available on CD shortly, though contains above-ground monuments only. I can check this particular index if you tell me what name you are looking for.
