Hi Pete Many thanks for your thoughts (and all the other listers) We have been lucky and have not been affected. Smoke and the need to fill the gutters with water and hose down the house doesn't count. Unfortunately not all my fellow Canberrans have been so lucky with the current count at over 400 homes destroyed, 4 lives lost and over 200 injured. It is hard to comprehend even when you live here - you don't expect it in a city. It is quiet here tonight Di Neumann Canberra Aus dneumann@bigpond.com > -----Original Message----- > From: Peter Applebee [mailto:apples57@tpg.com.au] > Sent: Sunday, 19 January 2003 6:10 PM > To: AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [[AUS-CEM]] Canberra Fires > > > All listers, > We Australian's sometimes pay a heavy price for our > beloved bush. > On behalf of Ray and myself (Temp/Admin) and I am sure Robyne as > well, our > best wishes and hope's for the future go out to our Fellow > Australian's in > our nations capital who have suffered at hands of the current disastrous > bush fires. > > Regards Pete > Site Author > > ============================================== > Peter Applebee > Elizabeth > South Australia > http://au.geocities.com/papplebee/ > Genealogy: Chasing your own tale! > ============================================== > > > > ==== AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES Mailing List ==== > ================================================================== > Cemetery Records on line:- > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~batman/ > ================================================================== > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy > records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
