THIS MESSAGE DOES NOT CONTAIN AN ATTACHMENT Hi Ray, I have ancestors buried at the OAKLIEGH one, but have not been there myself as yet. I only recently found out about them being there - typical, I use to live just 2 minutes from there! As I was told by a distant cousin there are only a few remaining headstones (ours are some) others, or all, have a plaque on the archway entrance to state who was buried there. I do not know whether the original transcriptions are on the plaques or just the person's name etc. As I understand from my cousin, I believe the OAKLEIGH Council did the work, I may be wrong. Dorne. If you give me the names I might be able to help as I'm going to go and do all the remaining headstones and put them on to CD The names were done by the council and it became a Centennial project I'll also be taking photo's of it too but only the name date and religion is stated in the bricks that make up a walkway near the archway which is in the middle of what used to be the cemetery. 1960 the Cemetery was totally closed Regards, Ray. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorne Saunders" <dornes@ozemail.com.au> To: <AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2003 10:42 PM Subject: [[AUS-CEM]] Re: [[AUS-CEM]] Can You Help??????
