    3. Greetings to all, Robynne asked for me to find members who would like to help in the transcribing of the Warrnambool Cemetery Records. Many of you have offered help, and your offered is very much appreciated. Here is what you need, but please don't worry if you do not have the program as it could find it's way to you (mums the word here) You need to have Microsoft Works and be using IBM system please You need to be able to read the old hard writing as all records are hard written. I'll send you the program that I've made to do the work and the layout is set out all you have to do is to copy the information onto the program in other words fill in the blocks as required, it is not hard but time consuming. I also need to have you snail mail address to send you the disks and the photo copies of the registers and would ask if they be returned please by my replied paid post address so it will not cost you anything! It can also help in some small cases if you also have the diggers CDS or know someone who has, because sometimes you need to look at the when a name is not clear, also some of the spelling is not right, but because we are copying records I'll ask you not to go making any changes to the spelling as this would not then be a true copy of the registers. Again I think you all for your interest and your valued offer to help as this is a very big project we are looking at something like 27,000 burials in total, this is just the start of this one project as after this is done and with the help from Di Carroll at Yarragon I also hope to photograph all the headstones as well, this is yet another data base that has not been listed within our Cemeteries web page as yet. Please make direct with me now that I'm back on line and I'll get the stuff to you A.S.A.P. Many thanks, Raymond Henderson. 2/48 Neale Street, Bendigo. 3550. (03)544-444-98 0408329299

    3. HI Ray, I'm willing to help if I can. I have an IBM Computer system. I don't have Microsoft Works, as I run Microsoft office 2000. If your program won't run on Office 2000, I can install works if you can send me the program. I consider myself reasonably computer literate, and a reasonable typist. I believe it is important for as many records as possible to be available on line. I also am enough of a realist to understand that this goal needs volunteers to make it possible. I do not have access to the diggers CD'S but perhaps if I strike a problem I could email you the query. My snail mail address is as follows: Mrs Julie Jakeman 122 Eungella Road, WALKERSTON QLD 4751 Look forward to hearing from you soon. Kind Regards Julie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raymond W. 3. Hello Mr Henderson, I would be happy to be one of your team of volunteers for this (or other) transcription tasks. I have an IBM, with Microsoft Office (including Access and Excel). I'm not sure if Works works (!) with Office, but if not, I'd be happy to install the program you need me to work with. I don't have the Diggers CDs, unfortunately. Best wishes, John Ross PO Box 743 Albury 2640 (P.S. Albury, NSW, despite my UK e-mail address, which is just for convenience, not an indication of where I live) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raymond W.
