Hi Monica Liverpool and Sutton Forest are not exactly next door suburbs, it is a good 1- 1.5 hours drive between them. I would have thought Goulburn was closer for someone to die at and be buried at Sutton Forest. But then maybe the treatment he needed was only available at Liverpool. Is the place of residence Chullora? That is a suburb of Sydney that is not really that far from Liverpool, so that would make sense. If this is your James, maybe he re-married after the death of his wife in 1942 and it was this second marriage that happened when he was 69. And there were no children of this second marriage. Who is the informant on the DC? Maybe they didn't know anything about the first wife or children Charmaine > Listers, > I have just received a death certificate for a James McFARLANE. I thought he was the g-grandfather of my husband. My husband's g-grandmother was buried at Church of England Cemetery, Sutton Forest in 1942 - I have a copy of the death certificate for her, Her husband was James McFARLANE. I have his date of death as 28 May 1953 (I don't recall where I found that, and in the early days I did not bother with documentation, and I know I was VERY silly!!). The death certificate that I have received is for James McFARLANE who was buried in Church of England Cemetery, Sutton Forest on 29 May 1953, so presumably the date of death I have is for him. However I am not sure if it is the man I am looking for. He apparently married at 69 yrs of age (and died at 73 yrs). If he is who I am looking for, then there should have been a first wife but she is not mentioned, and it says that he had no children. My James had 5. > > Also he died at "State Hospital and Home, Liverpool". Could anyone give me any information about this place please? > > Any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated. I realise that sometimes in a second marriage the first wife may not be known about, but it seems strange that he was buried at the same cemetery. He lived in Chullorn at the time of his death. Where is that? > > Also, does anyone have access to lookups for Sutton Forest cemetery, or is there somewhere I can contact for more information? > > regards, and thanks in advance for any assistance > > Monica Rankin > Melbourne > >
