Hi All Thanks Carmel for your comments re common graves but maybe someone can clarify something for me. I have always been led to believe that "common graves" were essentially "pauper" graves paid for by either the government or charitable organisations. The multiple burials that I referred to in my previous note were actually privately arranged by funeral directors and the deceased families in order to reduce but not eliminate costs and therefore I believed them to be in a different catergory to "common graves".
