    3. Hi Everyone Normally in NSW the person who owns a grave has the authority to say who will be buried in that grave. So maybe the funeral directors bought some graves and then offered them to various families to cut down the costs to them? I have always been led to believe that "common graves" were essentially "pauper" graves paid for by either the government or charitable organisations. The multiple burials that I referred to in my previous note were actually privately arranged by funeral directors and the deceased families in order to reduce but not eliminate costs and therefore I believed them to beĀ in a different catergory to "common graves".
