    1. [AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES] CATHOLIC CEMETERY SYDNEY
    2. Peter Strauss
    3. Hi Listers, I am trying to locate what was recorded on my GGG grandmother's death certificate in 1860 as the "Catholic Cemetery" in Sydney. She lived in Chippendale which was very close to the Sandhills or Devonshire St Cemetery, this had a large Catholic section. This location is now the site of Sydney Central Railway Station built in the first decade of the 20th century. The remains were relocated to Rookwood and other Sydney cemeteries although not all were identified and due to poor records some may not have been recovered. I have tried the Catholic Cemeteries Board at Rookwood who checked but found nothing. I was directed to the St. Marys Cathedral Archives and was curtly told to find a genealogist. Can any lister suggest an alternative location and how to search it please. In case any of you have CDs or other records the name was Sarah LYNCH, buried 16th June 1860 (02208/1860) Cheers Peter Melbourne
