Hi Folks; An interesting issue regarding a cemetery I would appreciate help with. In the Victoria Government Gazette of 16 August, 1933, page 2133 is the following notice: Department of Public Health Trustees For Cemeteries. * Sidney Percy DIFFEY, to be a Trustee for Waringa Public Cemetery, vice Thomas J. SANDERSON, deceased. Has any List Member any information for a Waringa Cemetery? I cannot find any reference to it or a place called, Waringa. I thought it might be Waranga near Rushworth or Yarram (two places) but it does not really fit. Checking on the death indexes for Thomas John SANDERSON, I found he died at Wangaratta in 1933. Sidney Percy DIFFEY died at Rutherglen in 1971. I was wondering if it was in the Wangaratta area. Any help would be appreciated. David, It may well be the East Wangaratta Cemetery. The cemetery was on land donated by Diffey and 3 Sandersons are buried there. I have a file which I could forward to you off list if you wish.
