Does anyone have a list of graves ( I believe there is a book that was in print with the information?) from the old Cemetery in SYDNEY, Australia which was where Central Railway now stands? I am looking for a death around 1840 for one BERNARD HUGHES. The Cemetery was bulldozed and some of the graves moved to other locations but I have reason to believe that this one was not moved in the designated time. Is there information anywhere about who was buried there originally and what was written on the tombstones? Thank you for any assistance Kerri

Kerri; In "Sydney Burial ground 1819-1901 and History of Sydney's Early Cemeteries from 1788", by Keith A. Johnson and Malcolm R. Sainty, Library of Australian History, Sydney, 2001 there is the following noted: Appendix 3 - Monumental Inscriptions - at Bunnerong: 1247. Barnard HUGHES, died 6th July 1840 aged 68 years. I checked the spelling at it was Barnard, not Bernard. I hope this helps.
