Thanks Bern, I live nearer the Torrens than the Yarra but I've visited my local library for an inter-library loan which is on its way. Apparently Linda's husband was convicted of the manslaughter of his wife Linda but he refused to pay for a headstone for the "Pyjama Girl" as he maintained that she was not Linda. The book should be an interesting read. Maybe we should not be wishing for a headstone if there is now doubt about the Pyjama Girl's real identity!! We had a similar case many years ago in S.A. when a male corpse was located on a suburban beach and never identified. However, he was buried at West Terrace with a funeral funded by local bookmakers and the good old Salvation Army conducted the service. Google Somerton Man for more details if interested.
