    3. Good Morning Marianne; Thank you for your reply. I would appreciate the information. I appreciate the offer. I can then check the names against the list of burials that I have. I don't think that my burial list is complete. 3. Good Morning; I am trying to find the location (and size) of the old Barry's Reef Cemetery. Barry's Reef is near Blackwood in Victoria on the road from Blackwood to Trentham. I know that the burials at Barry's Reef Cemetery were moved to Blackwood Cemetery in the early 1900s (I believe). I do have a list of these burials that were removed. Any help re its location, size or history would be greatly appreciated. David Weatherill

    3. Hi Sandra; Thank you for this. I had tried the NLA papers just in case as well as all cemeteries on line for Co Mayo. The problem with the Co Mayo Cemeteries lists are that they are not complete. My hope would be that there might be a member of the List in Ireland who could help. Over the years I have had 5 requests from Irish people for help with burials in Victorian cemeteries, so at least it did show that someone in Ireland does belong to the List, read the emails from the Rootsweb lists, read the website of Aust Cemeteries, or just "Googles" a cemetery. It was a faint hope in posting my request on the List. As noted in a previous message I might have to email a contact in the area or the Co Mayo Family History Groups (2) for help. It is frustrating when data does not have a reference (and date) attached to it. Still I was lucky in getting a copy of the photo in the first place. I should not complain. I do know that Thomas and Margaret died in Co Mayo and were buried there. The family contact had a parent who visited the grave and photographed it quite a few years ago, 1970s. Thanks again for all of those who did help. 3. Hello Dave, I checked the Victorian Death indexes, & there is no listing for Margaret or Thomas. Also the same for Queensland. The New South Wales indexes, show Margaret S. WALSH, died NSW 1955, registered at Uralla. Daughter of John & Mary A. Quite a few Thomas WALSH's dying in 1955, but none at Uralla. Cheers, Jules. 1. [AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES] Free cemetery information
    2. Ria Kotynia
    3. Dear All I really feel inclined to add my own story in here. I started photographing cemeteries about 12 months ago, and for two reasons. Firstly - to preserve our history. Secondly, to share that information - FREELY - with others. I have this belief that we should all have free access to our own history. When I first contacted Pete and Raymond, I was posting my photographs on another server. There was no pressure whatsoever from Ozgenonline - they merely made me aware of what was available if I wanted to make use of it. So I did, and I am so pleased that I did. I am now part of a marvellous team who, like me, believe in the free access of ancestral information. My information is safe, and it will never be converted into a "pay as you go" system. I have like-minded people I can turn to for advice (e.g., Raymond! Cheers, Ray!), not to mention a magnificent web-master (Pete! thanks!!!) and all of the other terrific people who are part of this great service. We all work hard, and sometimes we may not read everything "perfectly", but what we do is for all of you and anyone else who is interested. It's not for money or accolades; goodness, it probably works in the reverse! It is most definitely an "act of love" on all of our behalves, but we do love it, and I feel that I probably speak for the whole team when I say that we will continue to do what we do for what we believe are all the right reasons. Sincere regards to all. Onwards and upwards! Best wishes, Ria Kotynia. -- Dr Ria Kotynia Headstones from Cemeteries of Tasmania http://www.ozgenonline.com/~riacaroline/ Partner Site of Australian Cemeteries http://www.australiancemeteries.com/
