Sorry Carmel I was just looking for a buriel record. I have lost this lady. She married in Victoria but husband (Alexander McDonald) was from NSW and returned to NSW and was buried at Binda in 1909 so we are sort of hitting brick walls. They didn't have any children so that does not help either. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carmel M Reynen" <fcfibre2@bigpond.com> To: <wollar1914@yahoo.com.au>; <australia-cemeteries@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 30, 2010 4:46 PM Subject: RE: [AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES] Death Reg Campbell Creek McDONALD, Maria > What help are you looking for? > Carmel > > -----Original Message----- > From: australia-cemeteries-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:australia-cemeteries-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of > wollar1914@yahoo.com.au > Sent: Thursday, 30 December, 2010 4:02 PM > To: australia-cemeteries@rootsweb.com > Subject: [AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES] Death Reg Campbell Creek McDONALD, Maria > > I have a Maria McDonald dying 1903 at Campbells Creek Vic. > > Can any kind please help me with this. > > Many thanks > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' > without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > >

Thanks to all who investigated and helped. I'll dig further with certs etc but I believe the 1930 Cath must be the correct one, although the parents names dont' match - so I'll just delete parents until PROOF comes along. Merry Christmas to all, and I hope a LOT of your brick walls fall down next year. Kindest Regards and thanks, JO.

I doubt it is the correct woman, married and died 1875 but children still being registered to 1900. Do you have John and Catherine's marriage certificate stating her parent's names? The 'IND" on the cd death entry is listed as Catherine's birthplace not her death place, was this Catherine MURPHY John James ALEXANDER's Mother?? (Parents recorded as Thomas and Catherine ALEXANDER nee MURPHY on this death entry). Catherine (died 1930) is buried with John James (who died 1925) at FAWKNER. Going on her children's names and her birth time frame etc. recorded, Catherine may have been the daughter of Denis and Sarah MURPHY nee RYAN registered 1857. Digger - Pioneer Index. Hi Jo, John James Alexander married Catherine Murphy in 1875 at Castlemaine. (Strangely enough her marriage is registered in Melbourne, his in Castlemaine ?) Marriages usually took place at the brides place of residence. The Catherine Alexander (Murphy) who died in 1875 aged 40, death registered in Indi which is up near Wodonga. Her parents are listed as John James MURPHY and Catherine DUDGOW. The average age for a female to marry falls between the ages of 18 to 24. That would put her birth around 1851 to 1857. What makes you think that this is the one that married John James ? Both Murphy and Catherine are common Irish names. The 5 children of John J. and Catherines' births range from 1876 to 1885, which is what you would expect from a marriage in 1875. All their births took place in Melbourne. Carlton, Hawthorn and Hotham. I'd have a look at a Catherine Alexander, nee Murphy, who's death is registered at Carlton in 1930, aged 73. Yours, Garry. ----- Original Message ----- From: "bsalter1" <bsalter1@optusnet.com.au> To: <australia-cemeteries@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 20, 2010 10:03 AM Subject: Re: [AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES] Connundrum > Hi Jo, There is a Thomas Alexander who also married a Catherine Mary > Murphy, and their children were born earlier than your Catherine.
