I have started just on a program, where I am linking to local History Groups. They give me a couple of photos of the cemetery and I in turn link to their home page and promote their link with a banner, as well as their work on this Cemetery. This in most cases so far these are books, but cd's are coming. If you wish to see an example, The Cowra Family History Group has done a book of Cemeteries in the Neville Area of New South Wales. The cemeteries covered by this book are Shaw, Neville, and Hobby's Yards Cemeteries, If you have a look at these on the web site, you will see what I mean. My local history centre here in Elizabeth, South Australia, is covering all it their local cemeteries, see Little Para, Zoar or Carclew, just a few. I meet with their neighboring history group, at their next meeting. This I hope to expand on as the next stage in the sites evolution. Terri, Headstone transcriptions were done by SAG some time ago - they are on fiche - many libraries and other resource centres - e.g., LDS, genealogical societies are likely to have a copy. Burial butts (i.e., complete list of interments - not just those with headstones) are on film in Sydney at SAG and State Library. Hope this helps - you didn't say whether you were in Sydney or not. Sorry to have scared you but I have just discovered that this was a hoax - I should have checked but I panicked instead! If you have already deleted the file mentioned please restore it You can check on http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr.exe.file.hoax.html to confirm I promise never to do this again to you Cheers Di Canberra Aus dneumann@bigpond.com
Dianne, that email you sent is a hoax, if you undertake the steps that are suggested you "WILL" delete some files which are required by the Windows SYS to operate properly, I've forgotten what the result is, however "DO NOT DELETE" anything. Best Wishes Don
Dear All, A virus has been passed on to me by a contact. My address book WAS infected. Since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you will find it in your computer too. The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or McAfee anti-virus systems, or VET to date. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book, whether or not you send emails to your contacts. Here's how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it: YOU MUST DO THIS 1. Go to Start, Find or search option 2. In the file'folder option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search your C: drive and all sub-folders and any other drives you may have. 4. Click "find now" 5. The Virus has a Teddy Bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN IT 6. Go to Edit (on menu bar), choose "select all" to highlight the file without opening it. 7. Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select delete. It will then go to the Recycle Bin. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK, SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS. To do this a) Open a new e-mail message b) Click the icon of the address book next to the "TO" c) Highlight every name and add to "BCC" d) Copy this message enter subject paste to e-mail Sorry for the inconvenience. (The above has been copied and pasted, not sent on, from an e-correspondent. I followed the procedure, it was on my C drive and it appears to be deleted.) Di Canberra Aus dneumann@bigpond.com
