Hello Listers, Could anyone tell me please if the Melbourne General Cemetary is on-line? Or alternatively, is there anyone on the list who has access to Records for this Cemetery??? Or anyone who lives nearby.........???? I am seeking the whereabouts of the Burial of my Great Aunt and her husband.....Great Uncle? Phyllis Ann BAKER (nee WHEELER) died at Heidelberg, Melbourne, Victoria in 1976, and a James Henry BAKER died at Healesville on 31st October 1990. I have not yet been proven that this James Henry Baker (above) is my Uncle and husband of Phyllis Ann. It is however known that James (poss Henry) BAKER (widower) husband of Phyllis Ann BAKER, was living at Healesville with his married daughter after 1976. Thanking everyone on the list for any help you can give me. Leona in Toowoomba Qld.

My suggestion would be to write to the local council and ask for a cemetery lookup or contact the nearest family history group for that region. One or the other should be able to help you. Hi Lee, Sorry about the long delay. I just haven't had time to get to my emails. Now I'm paying for it though, I've got heaps to get through. Your records for DAWSON mean the following: Dawson John 1.12.1869 1.1 10A 17 C/E - Yes, the age is 1 year 1 month I would presume, C of E is Church of England. Dawson John 31.5.1963 49 3A 3 Gen f of Elene - looks complicated because the columns didn't show up. It is actually the General section and the Notes are "f of Elene" meaning father of Elene. Whether Elene is shortened or not I don't know but the other burials have the exact name on the headstone etc. so I presume this is the name listed. My informaiton comes from Maitland Family History Circle's cemetery records of Wallsend Cemeteries. I'm a member and also had experience at the cemetery with my PICKERING and MORSE families. Again, sorry for the delay, hope it helps. Lynette ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------ Lynette Begg P.O.
