Hello all, I am looking for information on a cemetery located in Booragul/Fennell Bay which is off the Old Main Road in the Lake Macquarie area of NSW. The cemetery has no physical evidence of graves or markers for graves such as tombstones and the Lake Macquarie City Council has no records concerning burials. However, it appears on the topographical and tourist maps for the area. If anyone has any information concerning this cemetery or burials within it can they please email me off line at Mary-Jean.Sutton@erm.com. Thanks Mary-Jean Mary-Jean Sutton Archaeologist --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Environmental Resources Management Australia (ERM) Building C, 33 Saunders St Pyrmont NSW 2009 Mary-Jean.Sutton@erm.com

Hi Michelle This is a long shot and I'm not sure whether you will be able to help. I have a Georg Adam Lechleiter and his wife, Barbara, and children, Magdalena, Jacob & Barbara, into Sydney in Dec 1852. Georg's brother, Peter, and his family were on the same ship. Peter & his family settled in the Bombala district. I know that Georg died between his arrival and 1864 when his daughter, Barbara, married Thomas Gam. However, I have not been able to trace Georg or his daughter, Magdalena, but believe that she had also died. As Georg's brother settled in Bombala, I assume that Georg's family may have also been in the area. I wonder if there is any mention in any of cemetery records for them or names that could possibly be them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Everyone, Just to let you know that our list server at Rootsweb is "broken" again. The list will be down at least for a day or two. Here is the message on the site http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ Lists2: 2003-04-02 LISTS2, one of our mailing list servers, while recovered from its technical problems is still need of some attention to get digest (-D) mode e-mail working again. We have turned the server off to work on this issue. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Hi, I am hoping that SKS who has easy access to Victorian B.M.D. info can help me PLEASE trace what happened to VERONICA(RONNIE) O'MEARA. She was a twin of J.P.O'MEARA born 1909 in HAWTHORN in Melbourne. I am not sure if she married although there are whisperings of a RAY....She is believed to have had a daughter MARGARET. My head is getting sore of banging my head on the brick wall. TIA. Helen McNamara in N.Z.
Hi Judy & Robert They have been "renovating" the cemetery for a few years now. Old graves have been re-used and the old headstones have been attractively arranged in various places. There are still many graves untouched as yet. I'm planning on going there sometime in the next few weeks and can take photos of something for you if you like.
