Russell, The Melbourne General cd is available from Genealogy Society of Victoria, see the website www.gsv.org.au It costs $110 but I think (hope) that there is a 10% discount for members of the society. I phoned up this morning, joined the society and purchased the cd over the phone using my credit card, very easy. Membership is about $50 per year I think. Monica

Dear members Without wanting to appear to be on old grouch (well, I am really but I like to think that others don't realise it :)) Could I possibly suggest that people alter the subject line when replying to messages so that they delete the Re:....Re:.....Re:.....Re:....Re:...... 's or type in a new subject line so that when scanning through the list of messages it is easier to see which messages would be of interest. I think that (may be) people would get more replies to their messages if other list members could more easily read those messages of interest rather than deleting a lot when we get overloaded. Rookwood and Eastern Suburbs Cemetery are 2 entirely different cemeteries. One is in the Lidcombe/Auburn area of Sydney and the other is at Botany. As far as I know Rookwood is not on line. Hello Listers I know I am probably being very lazy but, after searching all the cemeteries on line for some of my ancestors, I have been unable to find three of them (would believe it? All three are Irishmen). Some I have found, apart from these three, have been buried nowhere near where they lived. Either they moved when they became older or their children buried them near the family, eg one with property and children b. in Bendigo, lived Myrtleford, died in Prahran. Is there a site (??? wishfully) where I can search over an extended area for burials please? These three were: Thomas McHENRY b. Dublin c. 1820.Was around Myrtleford. Tressider, Hanorah Lucy (nee Madden) b. 1863 - d. 1951 at Ferntree Gully age 81 bur Kyneton 29/6/1951 Tressider, John William b.1864 - d. 1949 at Kew age 84 bur Kyneton 9/10/1949 I wonder why their burials were at Kyneton, perhaps other family graves are there. Question 1 ..........what does the AIGS Series 1 Cemetery CD cover - does it have many Victorian cemeteries? Question 2 .........wherabouts is Harkaway ? I was born and dragged up in VIC but have never heard of it. Left VIC for sunny Sydney about 1970.
