Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Someone must know this family....well heres hoping anyway, have a great day all :-) I for sometime now have been working on my own and my stepmums family tree (Davis). We have had a lot of real mysteries as you can well imagine and know when you start dabbling into this sort of thing. Her father Hobart Vivian DAVIS, born 19 August 1886 at Fingal, NE Tasmania. His name is actually recorded as Hobart Verian DAVIS and the reference is 1886/1527/33. Parents are George Alexander DAVIS and Sarah Ann CRAWLEY, went missing back in 1956 (from christchurch,NZ) without trace and still to this day we have never found out what happened to him which is very sad, perhaps he went back to Australia to die, who knows?, but there have never been records found here for him unless he died with using another name which in that case we will probably never find him. There was a trace done for him through the salvation army, the police missing persons reports and still nothing!!! I am trying to gift my stepmum with the knowledge of what happened to her father before she too passes away, but with much difficulty. Hobart never spoke much of his immediate family but I wondered if anyone knows anything of this Davis family? I have on site <outbind://7/www.geocities.com/lucyz_nz> www.geocities.com/lucyz_nz how our Davis lot go. There where a lot of them that apparently came originally from Wales, and a lot that resided here in New Zealand as well. If you have ever heard of or know any little amount of info if you have time to reply to me it would be much appreciated. I would especially just like to thank you for taking your time to read this email. Kind Regards Sheryl www.geocities.com/anika662000/ Snelleksz Family www.geocities.com/lucyz_nz/ Davis Family

Hi Kel, No mate things are still very much up in the air down here, in fact Mother had another bad turn just Thursday just gone, we had hoped that she would have been home but this latest turn has set her back with having to now go back to Footscray again this Monday to have further tests do to see what they can do? I have brought all the manuscripts down here with me with the thought in finding time to get around and post some out to people that have offered help, but it hasn't been that easy to do as I'm also left solely to also look after my demented Father at home, runback and forth to hospitals cook meals and generally take care of him as well, but the time night fall comes I'm so tired I've honestly not got around to sending any out to anyone nor have I been able to at this stage justified the extra expense involved. So when the house is quite and Dad is tucked safe and sounds in his bed at night I come out and try and get another couple of pages done here as an escape thing if you understand but I'd dearly love to get some help soon. Regards, Ray. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kelvin Freemantle" <kelfreemantle@bigpond.com> To: <AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2003 6:23 PM Subject: [[AUS-CEM]] Warranmbool transcription > Directed to Raymond Henderson > > How is the job of transcribing going? > > Do you need more help ? > > If you do, let me know and will give you a postal address. > > I wrote via snail mail to offer, but later learnt it would have been when you were otherwise occupied. I was wondering if there is any person who is able to do a look up (ups) at Malmsbury Cemetery for me as it isn't on line. I am looking for descendants of Thomas Saunders* and his wife Jane Smith* - possibility of Francis Saunders* Robert James Saunders Mary Ann Saunders Edmund John Saunders Ellen Saunders Susannah Martha Saunders Andrew William Saunders* I am aware of the details of Sarah Louisa Saunders* (married name Stephenson) The * denotes that they definitely died in Malmsbury I am hoping any inscriptions etc. will shed light on who the above might belong to as I think there may be a few different families involved. Many thanks Judy & Robert jude@bigpond.net.au
