    3. G'day Judy, I can't help with the graves at the moment although I could look into Salisbury in about 10 days. I'm not sure where you are but Salisbury is an outer northern suburb of Adelaide,Point Sturt is on the shores of Lake Alexandrina south of Milang and Lower Wakefield is sort of in the mid north of the state (around Balaklava I think). I am informed both Point Surt & Salisbury have had the burial register and headstones transcribed but where the transcritions are, I know not! Could be worth a try with SA Genealogy & Heraldry Society. I have found 28 death records from 1842 to 1915 of Stuteley/Stutley/Stuttly/Stutely mainly around Booleroo Centre/Melrose area. 15 of these people were adults. 3. Hi Julie, The NRMA site - http://www.mynrma.com.au/travel/go/maps/index.shtml has Blackwater. South of Glen Innes, north of Guyra. Go east of Llangothlin, to Blackwater. There is a Paddys Gully Road. I would assume there is a cemetery on this road to Kookabookra. http://www.ga.gov.au/map/names/ Type in Blackwater, Select All, and NSW. When you have found Blackwater, south of Glen Innes, go back to the search page, and type in Paddys gully, All, NSW. You will get a selection of names, the last one is Paddys Gully Cemetery. Click on the name. It wil take you to a map with the name. Click on the name. This will take you to a new map. Click on the zoom button, then click on the cross. this will bring it in closer.Unfortunately this is as close as you can zoom. At least you have an idea of where it is. I used a combination of these sites and the RACQ site http://www.racq.com.au/ to find it. 2. Jan and Bob Grant
    3. Re Dianne's earlier query, there are no on-line indexes to the Inquest records on State Records site. However, you are able to browse the Archives in Brief Sheet related to Inquests and Coronial Records which should give you the information that you require. As I mentioned to Dianne off list many family history societies hold indexes to the registers so it is worth checking these out if you belong to a fh society. Cheers Jan

    3. As there doesn't seem to be an on-line index (or am I missing something) which one can search and then order from, I assume it means that one can't order a copy of an inquest without going to Kingswood and ordering same once one has found the index record. I am correct with this assumption Hopefully Di Canberra Aus dneumann@bigpond.com > -----Original Message----- > From: Jan and Bob Grant [mailto:grantos@ozemail.com.au] > Sent: Friday, 3 October 2003 11:16 AM > To: AUSTRALIA-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [[AUS-CEM]] Re: [[AUS-CEM]] NSW Inquest Indexes > > > These records are held at the State Records Office at Kingswood > NSW. 3. Lynne, There should have been an inquest into the boy's death - I have a copy of one for a child who drowned in Bendigo in 1860. It is interesting reading, giving real insight into the life of the family at that time, but is also very sad to read, even though it was so long ago and I never knew the people. The inquest can be obtained from the public record office. I am sure someone on the mailing list would have an index (or access to the cd) to give you the inquest reference number. regards Monica
