    1. Re: WHITE BAY
    2. Hello All Kerrie has the location of White bay pretty right, I grew up not far from there and know it well, in earlier days it was the site of a large caol fired electricity generating power station with quite an extensive network of raillines nearby to bring in the coal. There is still, I think several large grain silos bit further east of where the power station was located, I believe that the wheat was/is brought to the silos by train and then loaded onto ships for export. To slake the thirst of the local workers a large hotel, The White Bay Hotel was located on Darling St. very close to the power station. I think the building is still there but hasnt been used as a hotel for many years. Hope this helps a little Regards Patrick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kerrie" <kerrie@optushome.com.au> Date: Sunday, November 12, 2000 8:25 pm Subject: Re: WHITE BAY > Hi > > I could be wrong but the exact location of WHITE BAY is the start of > Victoria Road just pass the Anzac Bridge.
