    3. Dear Friends My mother, who passed away on 1 June2000, lost her first unborn child at six months in 1940 in Melbourne. I never had the heart to ask about this when my sister and I were told when we were pre and early teens. To my regret I never asked about this later before she died. Apparently she was trying to free their pet dog who was caught in a broken fence and she was hit in the stomach by a paling. Does anyone know what the policy was then? Might this unborn child have been buried somewhere? If it makes any difference she may have been living in East Melbourne whilst her husband was at the war and her father was an Anglican minister. Is there a burial site? Would there be any records? Any information would be appreciated.
