OK friends. I initially was not enquiriing regarding Sennetts but about a book which a friend has seen in her search for information on her mother. This mother died in 1947 and nothing except a death certificate and a photo remain. There is no birth c, no marriage records and it happened in Tamworth. I am going to post the names in the hope someone is able to pinpoint this missing mother. Lillian SENNETT born we gather around 1905-1910 (according to D/c, in Bathurst) died 1947 in Quirindi NSW married Thomas BOURKE in 1937 in Tamworth. Had one daughter in 1946. Daughter is no mystery. Mother's birth marriage and anything else - big mystery. Mother died 6 months after friends birth. My friend left with neighbours for some years until they died. Father was a shearers cook and never in town. Possible parents for mother are James SENNETT and Wilma PATTON There appears no records in BDM NSW, for birth or marriage. Nothing appears anywhere. My friend has just returned from about 2 weeks research all the way from Sydney out to Bathurst and up to the border of QLD> regards Denise ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jennifer Burt" <keelawee@batemansbay.com> To: "Denise McMahon" <helendmc@powerup.com.au> Sent: Monday, November 27, 2000 9:48 PM Subject: Re Lilllian Sennett > Denise, > > You do not say what time frame you are looking at ? > > Jennifer > keelawee@batemansbay.com > Searching for MORSE in UK, India and Australia > FORWOOD in UK and Australia > BASTIEN in UK and France > DE CROZE in UK and France > >

The current population of Australia needs all the white page phone books. A book with all the people who have ever lived in Australia would be v_e_r_y thick. It raises a whimsical question - how many people have lived in Australia since 1788? >This mother died in 1947 and nothing except a death certificate and a photo >remain. There is no birth c, no marriage records and it happened in >Tamworth. Have you tried probate or wills? Tombstone or burial records? Does the death certificate have a burial officiating minister? What about hospital records of the town of her death? Did Baby Health Clinics keep records? Where was the child born - in hospital? Have you traced connections of other SENNETT families in nearby districts - any adoptions? Police and local court records (there could be a reason for the mystery)? Name changes are with the Land Titles Office. >My friend was left with neighbours for some years until they died. Do the family of the neigbours know any rumours? What about other nearby neighbours - streets are full of tales of what goes on up the road. Do a door knock of her street - are there any families who haven't left? Think of the search like a detective looking for a missing person, instead of like a genealogist searching the standard documents. What might she have done that could have generated a paper trail, or made people talk about her or her child. It's only 55 years ago - within memory for any 70 to 90 year old neighbour or local shop keeper. Gary =================== Gary Luke feraltek@zeta.org.au fax +61-2-9519-9907 Sydney, Australia

On the scale of surnames SENNETTs not a common one. Do witnesses names offer any clue ? > Had one daughter in 1946. Nine years is a fairly long time ???? Perhaps he served in WW2 ????? Daughter is no mystery. Possible to find out who paid for the burial plot/ funeral ? > Possible parents for mother are James SENNETT and Wilma PATTON > There appears no records in BDM NSW, for birth or marriage.
