I am looking for the burial of my great-grandfather, John THOMPSON, who died on 9 May 1861 whilst living at Woolloomoolo. I don't know where he is buried but would like to find his grave as I will be visiting Sydney next month. He may not have been buried at the local cemetery (which ever that may be) as he was Deputy Surveyor-General for NSW at the time of his death so, perhaps, there was a 'fashionable' cemetery at the time. I am also seeking the burial of his widow, Anne Mary THOMPSON (nee Windeyer) who died on 23 February 1893. I am sorry the information I have is rather vague. Any help gratefully received.
