William Cox born 1764 winbourne dorset england died 1837 buried at St Mathews Church,Windsor,NSW ensign 117th foot and 68th foot appointed lieutenant NSW corp's sept 28 1797 arrived on the Minerva jan 1800 I guess he became a pastor at Brush Hills in the fields of Mars District and at Canterbury Vale in the Petersham ills area.before moving to the Hawkesbury District. He became a Justice of the peace and a Magistrate on oct 1810 Govenor Macquerie in 1814 requested him to build a road from Bathurst to Nepean River. In 1816 he obtained three land grants. His second marriage to Anna Blachford in jan 1821 d/o James Blachford they had four children. BLACHFORD is another spelling that is interchanged with Blatchford.
