The Times Digital Archive has several citations on the SS Waratah. I only searched using the advanced search, with waratah, in shipping news, news and news in brief, from 1908. The main ones are from 2nd August 1909. No listing of passengers, only that 300 person were on board and all other articles indicate that ship was missing and that other ships were looking for. Nowhere did I see anything about who the passengers/crew were. Sorry. Maybe the Maritime deaths index, the miscellaneous series, of English births, deaths and marriages might list people - a suggestion only?
