    3. Hello all, I am in my final stages of tidying up the recent family lines in Australia and am putting together photos of the houses where relatives lived. My problem is that alot of them don't have numbers!!! One particular one that I am desparate to find out is Frederick Wray with his wife Wilhemina. I have them listed at Mitchell St, St Leonards from 1917-1926. The house was known as "RIPON" during correspondence in the war. If anyone can lookup this address, family for me it would be most appreciated.. Regards Lea I can help anyone out by way of cemetery photos of Rookwood, Northern Suburbs, cemeteries... --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! 1. Finding House number
    2. Up until about the 1930 many outer suburban houses were known only by house names, not street numbers. In the 1920s St Leonards was verging on being an outer suburb. Reconstructing the street to see which house numbers belonged to which house names can be quite difficult, especially if houses are still being built in the street. But it can be done by using the sands directories and working backwards using all the clues you can. Happy hunting. If I were you before I wasted time on this project I would look at Mitchell St Leonards, I suspect it had all been redeveloped so no houses to find when you find the numbers.
