Hi Before we had the four digit postcodes we had one letter (N, S, E, W) and two digits, therefore, S12 was Mordialloc in Victoria (S for south of the Melbourne PO). I can remember way back in 1945 when I went to Business School at Melbourne Tech (now of course a university!) we had to memorise ALL the Victorian postcodes. Can remember a few of them but not many 60 years later. Elva
