    3. One of the reasons an ancestor may not have officially obtained a Certificate of Pardon. Good Old Government fees:) December 1805 The Governor being informed that it has been customary for the Secretary's Clerk to take greater Fees than he has been allowed in consideration of his having no salary, the following is a List of the Fees he has been permitted to require: viz, For making out Free Pardons - 5s For Conditional Pardons - 2s 6d. For each person who leaves the Territory by Certificates, 2s 6d. Any demand for Fee or Recompence beyond the above statement, except the established Fees on Grants and Leases, are not authorised or allowed. All Letters of Request, or any other application, are to be given in future to the Governor's Orderly Serjeant before 10 o'oclock on Monday mornings; and Requests respecting Victualling on Friday Mornings at the same hour; and never to be lodged in the Secretary's Office. All Applications respecting Terms of Transportation are to be made to the Secretary, who will attend personally, on the first Staruday in every Month. cheers Jenny Fawcett
