    3. taken from the Sydney Gazette. March 11th 1822. " Police Office. Sydney. Feb 28th 1822. It having, of late, become a practice for Persons to drive Cars and Carts through the Streets of Sydney in a violent and furious Manner, and in many INstances to leave their Carts without Drivers, to the great Peril of the Inhabitants, and in direct Violation of the following Government and General Order on that Head, dated 20th June, 1811: viz CARS AND CARTS-Drivers not to leave them, nor to drive them through streets within a Mile of Sydney, otherwise than alongside their Cattle, and on Foot, nor to drive on Pathways intended for Foot passengers, on Pain of Fine and Imprisonment.'
