A gentleman in America (Jason Roberts) is hoping that someone will have access to the Australian Biographical Dictionary as he is seeking information on : .."Laurence Hynes Halloran (1765-1831), who ran a private school and was also a poet of some acclaim.However, both those careers were interrupted when he was convicting of forging postage and transported. In the best Australian tradition he promptly became a beacon of respectable achievement, apparently founding the first grammar school in Sydney, if not the entire country...." Jason is writing a history of Lt Holman, the blind traveller who journeyed throughout Australia in the 1830's, and Halloran was a friend of Holman's.
