I am still searching for any information on my grandmother above. She gave birth to my mother in Hillgrove via Armidale in 1898 and was later heard of at Grenfell, NSW at the time of death of her father Dominic Cullen at Emmaville and years later is reported to have never married but been a seamstress in a hotel in Canberra. On my mother's birth certificate as usual in those times, father is shown as unknown, so he is off the hook! but I really would like to know more about Mary Cullen if anyone does. I have discoverd quite a lot about her father, Dominic who served in the Crimea and her grandfather, Patrick William who was transported (later found innocent and charges cleared) for stealing a cow in 1834. He came from Frenchpark, Co. Roscommon in Ireland and is buried at Long Swamp, via Carcoar, NSW. My mother was adopted by the family of John and Harriet Roach in Hillgrove and I am trying to find a connection between the Roach and Cullen families which would have prompted this adoption. Apparently these two family names have often been intermarried but I need the possible specific link. Any help is greatly appreciated Margare Hille
