Hi Lyn, Thank you for your reply. I wonder whether your fellow's birth details are on their marriage certificate? Assuming they were married in S.A. The curiosity is too much for me; I think I will have to bite the bullet and buy the marriage cert. Information I have leads me to think although the family was from ENGLAND that she may have been born in AMERICA on the way over.
