Hi Neville Thank you for your kind help yes you do have the same family members I have. Today I paid a visit to the family and according to them my Caroline was actually named Chalker so again have to look for a marriage between Samuel Marks and Caroline Chalker. I must admit with your help and what I had already found all fell into place. Maybe I can ask another question why would a man with the surname Lix give his two daughters the surnames Diot. According to the family he was French by birth and was possibly of means. His youngest daughter was born ON 10 Sept 1905 at Kakatai, British New Guinea. The more I delve the more secrets and unusual things appear within the family ranks.
