Hello Listers I have just rejoined the list and am searching for a Polish/Jewish family who arrived in 1887 as Assisted Immigrants. Fanny Fromberg together with her 2 sons, Abraham & David and daughter Rebecca arrived on the SS "Port Victor". Also a Charles Fromberg was on the same ship but I'm not sure if he is another child of Fanny. They were joining her husband Myer FROMBERG who was already in NSW. Rebecca who was only aged 2 when she arrived married Archibald Simmons but I have not found their marriage record. Would their marriage and children's birth's be only recorded at the Jewish Synagogue? I would be delighted to hear from anyone who may have knowledge of this family and their descendants.
