The LDS often breaks their own rules about retrospective baptism being only for direct ancestors of Church members. Among Jewish records that have received the honour of this divine assistance I can count the marriage of my own gr.gr.grandparents, and everyone else entered as married or born in a few London Synagogue registers, thousands of Jews listed in "Americans of Jewish Descent", and hundreds of thousands of German and other Jewish Holocaust victims extracted from the memorial lists of the "Gedenkbuch". After two years of agitation and negotiation the victims names were removed from the IGI lists, but un-baptism is a theological impossibility. On the same source film as the extracts from the American Jews book were a number of blanket baptisms of names taken from 13th century French tax records by the LDS Medieval Research Department.
