My great-uncle who enlisted in the 9th Light Horse and embarked for overseas on 22 December 1914, gives as part of his service record, the information that he had served in the Scottish Highlanders, 2 years, and left because time expired. (At the time of enlistment - 1914 - he was 23 years and 4 months) Can anyone tell me whether or not the Scottish Highlanders were something here in South Australia, or would he have been in Scotland? He was born here but is believed to have travelled overseas, but . . .
