Hi Listers, Can anyone tell me what route a ship would have taken going to the USA in 1864, and also the approximate length of the voyage? Departure was from Newcastle. Possibly the port of arrival may have been San Francisco but that is not a certainty. My 2xg visited his sister in Evansville, IN. so would San Francisco have been a likely port for that?
