Hello all, recently Denice asked about the old area of Bathurst... In the 1820s there was an area known as Bathurst, "one of the original districts of Cumberland NSW; bounded bon the S by Prospect Hill and Melville districts, on the NW sides by the South Creek to the bridge, and on the NE side by the Windsor and Toongabbie Roads." From "A Geographical dictionary or gazettee of the Australian Colonies, 1848" by Wm Wells. Apparently there were several areas so named. Perhaps you could see if there are others which match your area best.
