    3. Grahame, Ever looked at examples of this kind in the Sydney Morning Herald? Before the advent of email, most ads were distributed through what is called 'classified advertising'. Newspaper proprietors derive most of their income from PAID classified advertising as well as PAID display advertising. It is not a novel idea. For example, it is known to have been old-hat in the eighteenth century! (Gosh!) --You might have noticed signs on telegraph poles and other large signs erected along highways and on buildings and even on taxicabs. This is another form of PAID advertising.-- Long ago, when I was young, there were many advertisements for accommodation, jobs, cars, and so on in the papers. Where have you been? Margaret
