    3. Dear List, Your thoughts on this please - the reply under the cemetery information was sent to me from a relative. When I told her about the cemetery being bulldozed, she was overjoyed at last to have found her relatives and now this news. Do they resume the bodies and headstone if there was one? Where would they be now? Botany's Pioneer Park? I know they removed lots of the cemetery at St Peters for the road. Is this a normal thing to do and is it still happening? The church you refer to is the St Georges Anglican Church, corner of The Avenue and Forest Road, Hurstville. The cemetery was in existence from about 1856 to 1964 when it was bulldozed down to make way for new buildings. The Hurstville Family history Society has recently compiled a cemetery burial list from existing records and I would be able to send details of your two burials when you provide the names Sent from relative: how can they bulldoze a cemetery.....isn't that illegal or is it just immoral? the Hurstville cemetery...they bulldozed it...that's disgusting. Best wishes Amanda

    3. What price do people put on progress, it is a sorry state of affairs when the dead can not even rest in peace, suffice to say I was horrified to hear of this Paul -------Original Message------- From: Amandacurran Date: Thursday, 8 April 2004 8:10:27 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [AUST] St Georges Church, cemetery, Hurstville - Bulldozed Dear List, Your thoughts on this please - the reply under the cemetery information was sent to me from a relative.
