Forrester is the Son of William MUIR and Lydia BROWN.( William died in Gordonvale in Qld) He lived in Townsville before the 1st World War, He served in Africa and joined the Australian Army in Townsville to fight in WW2. He was discharged in 1918 and was diagnosed with premature senility. His Vets Affairs records show he was given a pension.. which was cancelled 12 months later because a continuance form was not returned. Forrester was discharged in Brisbane but never returned to his Family in Townsville. Letters from his wife to the Vets Affairs dept at the time prompted a search for him but nothing was found. There is also a letter from a cousin Margaret SMITH who was living in Surry in Sydney in 1919 ( This lady I have not been able to connect with the family yet) asking for help to find her cousin. Forrester's Family always believed he deserted them intentionally. But after receiving his Army records I believe he just did not know how to get home. Hopefully someone is researching this family and can shed some light on Forrester's date and place of death.. Or can point me in the right direction to find him. I have checked the Qld BDM's up to 1945 and The N.S.W. BDM's as far as I can. also the Victorian BDM's up to as far as we can. Nothing shows for Forrester. Is there any other place I can search. Hoping for some direction Jan.
