    3. Janelle Cust has recently published a history of the family of her German born ancestor Johann Christopher Pabst. Pabst arrived in Sydney in 1826 as an employeee of the Australian Agricultural Company. After his contract expire he married and moved to what is now Holbrook and bought the Woolpack Inn in 1840 and it became known as"the German's" and the village became Germanton. Although primarily a family history, a secondary focus of this book is the development of Germanton from its European beginnings in 1838 until it was renamed Holbrook in 1815.
