Hi listers. Has anyone on the list when researching Irish ancestors used the Irish method of naming children as a tool in their research. If so, has this been successful in tracking back the families name. I refer to the Irish manner of naming children, e.g. 1st daughter after the paternal grandmother 2nd daughter after the maternal grandmother first sone after the paternal grandfather 2nd son after the maternal grandfather etc. I am hoping someone can clear up something. Is the patneral grandmother (etc etc) referring to the grandmother of the new born, or the grandparent of the child's parents. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has used this method regards Denise ###################################### Denise Marriott McMahon - ex Melbourne 21 years Brisbane Queensland - Searching - CONWAY - County Clare and N.E.
