Hello all I am hoping that I maybe lucky and contact someone in Australia belonging to one of the Scottish Clans. I have copied many Charter documents from St. Giles Church, Edinburgh, Scotland for the research I am doing at this time. It comprises three different ways of writing one is Latin, another English and the third I was told is old scottish. I live near Mount Druitt and really need help transcribing these documents some makes sense to me but the rest is confusing any advice on how to transform the writing to English would be most appreciated. The time period covered is 1344-1567 and list many noble families of Scotland and also connections to these families and Scottish history in year form. It also covers the history of the church. Unknown to me on rading it I became aware that there was a plague in England in 1522 most probably not exciting to most but I am a firm beliver that every tit-bit of history points to another direction. Hope someone can help me Many Regards and Thanks Hazel
is this regular Latin Hazel or some sort of medieval Latin ? I ask because Latin can be easily (well almost easily) translated. Or is it early French ? susanna ----- Original Message ----- From: Hazel Magann <magann@one.net.au> To: <AUSTRALIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 01, 2000 10:57 Subject: Re: OLD SCOTTISH WRITING > Hello all > I am hoping that I maybe lucky and contact someone in Australia belonging to one of the Scottish Clans.
