Hello I am hoping I am still active on the site as I haven't contacted for a while. I am hoping someone maybe research one of these families in the Grafton area LAWSON/KELLY/DENING. On going to the State Records today I realised on obtaining a copy of NELSON SIMMONS LAWSON'S Deceased Estate file I had verlooked a child named WALLACE LAWSON I would appreciate hearing from anyone researching any of these names. Regards Hazel
The following is an index to convicts in Tasmania who were transferred, or loaned out to employers, in the year 1835, through the Convict Assignment Board. They were generally skilled convicts (mechanics) such as plasterers, bricklayers, carpenters, unholsterers, even the odd book binder. The transfer and loan lists usually provides the name of a convict, their assigned number, employer and/or former employer, occupation with new employer, sometimes the extension of time allowed to the employer for this convict if a particular job was not yet finished. Each convict is usually identified by their ship name, or assigned convict number, (I have found the odd error in assignment numbers, so they should not be relied upon entirely to identify a convict). These lists can help to fill in a convict's whereabouts, or occupation, during certain periods of time in the penal system, which is not commonly recorded on their conduct record. They should act as a supplement to records such as CONDUCT, INDENT and DESCRIPTION records, which can be obtained through the Archives Office of Tasmania. http://www.genseek.net/tctl35a.htm cheers Jenny Fawcett
Hello I am looking for information on a James FARRANT who was a police constable in the Mudgee District of NSW in 1862. I cannot find any records relating to police in Mudgee area on the State Records site and would like to know if there are any other records or sites I could try to find when he joined and left the police force. Any advice would be gratefully received. Joan

October 2006 HAT-the History of Australian Theatre www.hat-archive.com contains articles and a 15300 entry database of people who were involved in the Australian Theatre between 1860 and 1960. If you had an ancestor who toured Australia or was an Australian performer you may find them here This month I have updated the database by 300 to 15300 entries I have also added about 40 pictures, many which come from the Australasian theatre annual of 1906. Hopefully you will find what you are looking for on the website. If not I am happy to answer questions. Happy researching -Leann HAT-History of Australian Theatre www.hat-archive.com

I'm not sure where Killarney is, but you'd probably find the NZ BDM fiche available at some of the larger repositories in Melbourne, e.g. State Library or maybe GSV. BlankHi Everyone I'm doing research into these families who were living in the Redfern area. THELMA SMITH was the daughter of ARTHUR SMITH and DOROTHY ELIZABETH SMITH nee CANNANE. They were living at 136 Lawson St. REDFERN at the time of Thelma's marriage to HERRICK CAIN in 1951 in Coonabarabran. Thelmas siblings were BERYL, RON, BERTHA and DOROTHY. Dorothy Elizabeth Smith died in 1973 whilst living in Blacktown at 19 Osborne St. I'm not sure as yet when ARTHUR SMITH (or Snowey) died. Anyone with information on any of these families I would love to hear from you Kind Regards Dianna --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
