Denise & the List: In reply to your email regarding NSW marriage registrations. Details on the NSW marriage registration are: Date, Place, Religion, Minister, Status (bachelor, spinster, widowed, divorced), Age, Birthplace, Residence, Occupation, Bride and Groom's Parents names, Witnesses, Other Notations - Permission to Marry. Divorce Date Ref. Note however that the divorce would only be listed on the marriage where the divorce occurred. In other words the registry goes to the marriage registration and notes the divorce details. It would not list all divorces if there were more than one. Thus by ordering a marriage certificate/transcription, where a divorce occurred you will get the reference to that divorce. On the next marriage the conjugal status would be listed as divorced. Hi I am looking for some help. There are two burials in Singleton which I would like to investigate. Thomas Cavanagh buried Queen Street, Singleton NSW on 3/5/1852 Mary Jane Cavanagh (nee Coleman) also buried there on 4/12/1867 I am quite prepared to ring the cemetery if I could get the phone, fax or e-mail address. I also believe that there are headstone transcripts recorded. If any kind person could assist with any of the following it would be appreciated Contact details for the cemetery Details of any headstone transcripts for the above Details of other interments in the same grave(s) Photographs of the graves and any headstones (if they exist) for which I will obviously make reasonable reimbursements. In regards to the last matter I do not envisage offers from places like Darwin or Perth etc (BIG SMILE) Regards Bill Bill & Terri van Lamoen \ e-mail bvl@multiline.com.au Perth Western Australia \ http://www.goodlink.nl/family Phone (08) 9401 0383 \ Fax (08) 9401 0604

As most of you know, the Sydney DPS is indexing the SMH death notices from 1986. Starting in January, we will be adding a new section to the web site, to cover miscellaneous issues of the SMH prior to 1986. This is to cater for those people who have contacted me indicating they have some issues which they would like to index. However, the last thing we want to do is spend time indexing issues which are already covered by published indexes. I know that scattered years have been indexed, but don't know the complete list. So, this is where I am asking for help. If anyone knows of any published indexes to the SMH death notices, can you please contact me (off list) with the details. This will enable us to compile a "don't touch" list, to avoid duplicated effort. I've a question, listers, for the people who research in NSW a bit...... I have not seen many certificates from NSW but I have been led to believe they do not show the same amount of information as Victoria. Is this correct? Perhaps some lister can help me with this -- If a man married three times in NSW, would his previous 2 marriages be likely to show up on his 3rd marriage c? OK friends. I initially was not enquiriing regarding Sennetts but about a book which a friend has seen in her search for information on her mother. This mother died in 1947 and nothing except a death certificate and a photo remain. There is no birth c, no marriage records and it happened in Tamworth. I am going to post the names in the hope someone is able to pinpoint this missing mother. Lillian SENNETT born we gather around 1905-1910 (according to D/c, in Bathurst) died 1947 in Quirindi NSW married Thomas BOURKE in 1937 in Tamworth. Had one daughter in 1946. Daughter is no mystery. Mother's birth marriage and anything else - big mystery. Mother died 6 months after friends birth. My friend left with neighbours for some years until they died. Father was a shearers cook and never in town. Possible parents for mother are James SENNETT and Wilma PATTON There appears no records in BDM NSW, for birth or marriage. Nothing appears anywhere. My friend has just returned from about 2 weeks research all the way from Sydney out to Bathurst and up to the border of QLD> regards Denise ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jennifer Burt" <keelawee@batemansbay.com> To: "Denise McMahon" <helendmc@powerup.com.au> Sent: Monday, November 27, 2000 9:48 PM Subject: Re Lilllian Sennett > Denise, > > You do not say what time frame you are looking at ? > > Jennifer > keelawee@batemansbay.com > Searching for MORSE in UK, India and Australia > FORWOOD in UK and Australia > BASTIEN in UK and France > DE CROZE in UK and France > >

Hi, I imagine your friend is a little older than you - and she wants to know about her mother - - your friend maybe should get hold of her own birth certificate first - it may supply some info that will help? I guess the mother is deceased? - get hold of the death cert - I expect your friend wasn't the "witness" on the death cert - maybe more good info - exact dates etc. and then check the relevant newspapers - the obits may well uncover "missing cousins". The birth cert may indicate the father - your friend's father may still be alive? - somebody maybe able to track him down? Does your friend have siblings - to the same parents? - maybe talk to them? - get their certificates - more info may be uncovered? Cut to the chase - no such book really exists or has ever existed - telephone books - SandsMac directories - electoral rolls - medicare levy and taxation records have never had "all the names of people in Australia at some point in time" - but wouldn't it be great for genies? - a total invasion of privacy? and probably highly inaccurate? Denise - be a little more specific - you ain't no fool - we ain't either - folk like the Fawcett folk find folk - if there is something unusual about all of this - then don't name names - well not all of them anyhow - and fly the kite. good luck Robert At 05:02 PM 27/11/00 +1100, you wrote: >A friend of mine was recently in NSW researching in vain for her mother's >missing marriage and birth. >Whilst doing this at a historical/family society, a lady opened a book which >was a very thick book and in it was supposedly listed all the names of >people in Australia at some point in time. >Does anyone know what this friend may have seen? Hello Listers, I've deleted my information re the addresses and costs for BDM's in Australian States. Can someone help me with a site with this info please. Robyn Robyn Kelly Echuca, Victoria rrkelly@origin.net.au
All, Firstly I am sorry that this is a bit of topic (a lot actually) but I couldnt find anywhere else to ask this question. I am wanting to update my website of family information and just wanted to know if framed pages (which I find easier to navigate with) are acceptable or does anyone have a particular reason that I shouldnt use framed pages. Do most if not all browsers accept framed pages now ? Again I am sorry to be right off topic here, but I couldnt think of a nicer bunch of people to ask for advice on what I should do. Thanks Again Brad Collins _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com
A friend of mine was recently in NSW researching in vain for her mother's missing marriage and birth. Whilst doing this at a historical/family society, a lady opened a book which was a very thick book and in it was supposedly listed all the names of people in Australia at some point in time. Does anyone know what this friend may have seen? Do most societies have this type of book. Something like a Directory with everyone in it. regards Denise ###################################### Denise Marriott McMahon - ex Melbourne 21 years Brisbane Queensland - Searching - CONWAY - County Clare and N.E. I have just joined the list as I am trying to research my father. He was known as Victor William Henderson, supposedly born in Gatton Qld in 1900 and sent to Zeehan in Tasmania at 3 months of age. He lived with his grandparents until they died. The only concrete evidence that he lived is his death certificate which says his fathers name was William but his mother was Unknown. This is apparently quite rare to have the mother unkn known. Has anyone any clues for me as to where I can search next. It would be much appreciated. Thank You Elaine
