Hi listers, I'm currently working on Thomas Ackerley ROBINS born c. 1812 Truro, Cornwall, married Elizabeth FOWLER in Launceston, Tas 25 Oct 1837. So far I have foundm one Thomas ROBINS, convict, arriving 1829, 19 years. The only Elizabeth FOWLER I have found arrived after my one was married. Thomas is listed as timber merchant on his marriage certificate and master mariner on son's birth certificate in Victoria. Any one suggest the way forward? Joan http://www.pnc.com.au/~geofocus
Hi Listers, Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain copies of the NSW Licence/Miner's Rights issued to rellies during the period 1853-1868? If so where would one apply for them? It has been suggested that they are available through a NSW Government Department. Can anyone help out here? Emerald Hill ? This was South Melbourne. Up by Campbell's Creek (outside Castlemaine ) there is a Fryerstown and an Irishtown which are early gold settlements. susanna > Hi all > I am wondering if anyone would know where these places are,or might have been.. > > Wicklow Vic > Moor Vic > Pleasant C Vic > Emr H Vic > Fryers Crk Vic > Franklyn Vic > Buni Vic > > TIA > Kathy > > > ==== AUSTRALIA Mailing List ==== > Australians Killed in Action Index > http://www.southernx.com.au/kia.html > > > ============================== > The only real-time collaboration tool that allows you and other family > members to create a FREE, password-protected family tree. > http://www.ancestry.com/oft/login.asp > >
Hello Everyone I would like to say how appalled I am to see that a cost of a will from the supreme court of NSW cost $36. I always thought that 10% of $10 was $1.20 ($11.20) and not $36. I find this a big rip off. I am glad that I can go to Kingswood and get copies of deceased estate for 45cents per page and these files have wills in them. Grahame

I posted an enquiry earlier today, and found that I have worded it poorly. I have the children and descendants of John CAIRNS and Bridget CARTY (McCARTHY) - John Boland and Mary Scully were witnesses at their wedding and I was hopeful that they might have a family connection. At the moment John & Bridget appear to have formed fully grown, single and without relations on the Ballarat Gold fields - well not quite - I do know where they were born and their parents. I am attempting to find Siblings, cousins etc. not descendants. My apologies for those that have looked up John and Bridget's children - all 5 of them.
