Hi there Australia List and Drake folk, happy NY and all that. Drake Website Statistics as 2nd January 2001 Databases = 182 Drake Websites = 91 History Items = 50 Enquiries = 351 Gallery = 23 images Drake related Surnames = 46 Biographys = 79 Wills = 30 + plenty more where these stats come from. Collecting anything Drake that is genealogy or history related in text or pictorial form - Modern or Medieval, Mrs Drakes favorite recipes, anything. The "Drake Database" area of the site has now been broken down into 1) America, 2) England 3) Ireland to make it a bit easier to search. Also the webpage was getting very large in size and causing grief with browsers. Material added to the Drake website each month is available in an indexed form at : http://www.xroyvision.com.au/drake/statistics.html there is also a"free for all links" page at http://www.xroyvision.com.au/cgi-bin/clinks40/main.cgi where you can add your Drake and non Drake links. Best wishes, Roy Andrews genealogy infoseeker: http://www.xroyvision.com.au/genealogy.html drake website: http://www.xroyvision.com.au/drake/drakepage.htm

gidday all Hope we had a good new years eve. I know mine was nice and quiet, relaxed and under control....my head appreciated it this morning! If those people with the post 1920 indexes would be so kind (and there are lots of kind people out there....i do appreciate it) as to do a quick look up for me. I have two irish sisters. Mary is my Gr Gr Grandmother Mary Clements (Kelly) and Catherine Gribbin(s) (Kelly). They are 12 years apart. Now i find it a bit hard to believe that two Irish girls would be seperated by 12 years and no siblings! Fat chance eh? The question is....did any more of them come out to Aus????? If anyone could search the death indexes of any state it would be much appreciated Father is John William Kelly and mother is Mary Neilan. Thanks in advance. *********************************************** Stephen O'connor researching O'connor, Cock, Cocks, Punton, Windsor, Gribbin, Marchioni, Webster, Neilan, Kelly, Lehane, Hecker http://www.heathcoteps.vic.edu.au/stephen/stephen.htm ***********************************************

I am seeking information on an Instructor for Boer War Veterans. I have a photo of a great-x-uncle on which the inscription reads: Thomas Edwin HART, Instructor in training for Boer War Veterans. It also indicates that the photo or history is registered at the Public Library (I assume of Western Australia, where he lived). Could some very kind person be able to offer advice as to where I could obtain this information, or would someone in WA be visiting their Public Library to see if there is anything on record there? Your assistance would be appreciated, Regards from a very hot Adelaide, Mari Walker Researching: Sth Aust :Major interests: HART, MAIN, THREDGOLD, TILLER, LEHMANN Minor interests: WOOLLEY, JEFFERIES, JOHNSTON, LARKIN, O'TOOLE, HENDER, DOWNING, MOLLER, MURPHY Australian interests: Victoria : LEHMANN descendants, CAMPBELL WA : MOLLER, HART, LEHMANN descendants NSW : MAYNARD Overseas: NZ : HART descendants USA (California) : MURPHY/KELLEY

In keeping with the New Year, we have updated the Newbies Helping Newbies site; checked all the links, also made it easier to print out the "How-To" articles by providing alternative pages with black text and no graphics. http://www.angelfire.com/mt/forbesnewbies/index.html For those who are new to the list, this site has been put together in an effort to help those who are new to computers, genealogy and the internet. There are a number of step-by-step articles giving basic instruction, for those, like myself, who find starting out a scary experience! Happy New Year to all and may it be the best yet!
